Deals, Steals & All the Feels

So a while back I found a Cracker Barrell rocker in the garbage on the side of the road. I admit, at first I regretted grabbing it- it was heavy, bulky and barely fit in my car. But after stopping on the road- it was too late to turn back. I made it fit and was on my way. When I got home I looked it over more carefully. It was dry rotted in one spot, had some paint chipping but was sturdy.  So after one can of $4 spray paint, a new chair cushion from Pier One for $20 and a throw pillow from Big Lots for $8 this rocker had new life! Total project cost $32! What do you think? 

If you are on social media by now you’ve seen atleast one advertisement for Shein. Their ads always feature an adorable model and some cute boutique-y top for a super reasonable (cheap!) price. I always read the comments, we are all wondering the same thing “Are you catfishing us?” You know the places that you order a gorgeous dress in an adult size and it comes ready to fit a toddler.  So in my hunt for bathing suits for my teenage daughter, Shein drew me in once again. Two piece bathing suits suits for $12!! What?? So with no expectations, I decided it was worth a shot to order. $33 for two bathing suits shipped! Before I hit submit, I chalked this $33 up as a donation to Shein, again no expectations on what we would get. Sooo, it took about 2 weeks to get our package, not too bad. The original shipping estimate was 4 weeks. So when our packages arrived today I was pleasantly surprised. Today is World MS Day.  Multiple Sclerosis affects over 2.3 million people around the world. I am one of these people. In October 2018, after months of numbness and nerve pain, at 43 years old, I received a positive diagnosis. I’m not sure how long I’ve actually had MS, it’s possible I’ve had it for much longer.  My first relapse/symptoms started days after a tragic family event. I am grateful that it only took 10 weeks for me to get a positive diagnosis, so many people fight for a diagnosis for years. I currently receive Ocrevus infusions every 6 months, this has been a miracle drug for me. I tried one DMT before Ocrevus and while my MRIs remained stable the side effects were too much.  This last year and a half has taught me so much, I’ve spent a lot of time grieving for myself. I have finally reach a point of acceptance. I’m not sure what the future will bring.  I believe in the advancements in treatments, my incredible doctors and my Faith. I spend a lot of time in the sun over summer, between baseball and soccer for my kids, I am in sun alot. I love to get a summer tan but the minute I step outside I get these dark sun spots on my face.  Even though I wear a moisturizer with a high SPF, I can't say I was as good about it when I was younger and as I get older I notice them more. I searched for years and tried a dozen products that never seemed to work to help lighten the spots.  Someone recommend AMBI to me and it was cheap enough on Amazon so I tried it.  Of all the products I have tried, I feel like this one actually works.  I do not have to use it year round, just when spring/summer hits.  I put it on under my moisturizer, you do not need a lot to cover your face, so a small tube goes a long way.  I am not totally in love with the smell, its not horrible but it smells like medicine.
